SAFETY HINTS WHILE DRIVING A VEHICLE ON A GRAVEL ROAD Excessive speed is the main cause of traffic accidents on gravel roads. It is therefore advisable to keep to the prescribed speed limit of 60-70 km/h
- Observe road traffic signs, particularly those indicate a gentle or sharp curve ahead. In this case you should reduce your speed accordingly.
- In dusty conditions it is advisable to switch on the headlights of the vehicle to be more easily observed by other road-users.
- With oncoming traffic, reduce speed and keep to the left of the road as far as possible.
- Tyre-air pressure plays an important role in the road-holding ability of your vehicle. Please observe the recommended pressure.
- If possible, avoid travelling at night, due to increased game movements.
- In rainy or wet conditions beware of slippery roads, wash aways, running and/or stagnant water at drifts and/or causeways.
- Always be on the lookout for animals.
- Always keep the steering wheel controlled with both hands.
- Important: Not all gravel roads are the same! Please be aware of the road conditions and drive accordingly.
